3. The search is back on to find clues in the mysterious disappearance of famed aviator Amelia Earhart and her plane. On Tuesday, searchers and salvagers embarked on a $2.2 million expedition to find wreckage from Earhart's plane that went missing over the Pacific Ocean 75 years ago.
 
 
 
4. And Barclays Chief Executive Bob Diamond has resigned with immediate effect. The British banking giant was fined $453 million last week by US and British regulators over false reports on interbank borrowing. Chairman Marcus Agius will serve as CEO until a replacement is found.
