 China's National Day marked in Madagascar

Antananarivo, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- The 63rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China was celebrated on Friday at the Chinese Embassy in Madagascar.

Diplomatic representatives in function in Madagascar, local government and parliamentary as well as military officials attended the reception held on this occasion with the Chinese Ambassador to Madagascar Shen Yongxiang and his wife.
After welcoming his guests, the Chinese ambassador listed living witnesses of the cooperation between the two countries as the many infrastructures built by China in Madagascar.
"The most urgent task for Madagascar is to solve its political crisis as soon as possible so that it can focus on its development, " the ambassador added.
The Chinese ambassador said China is in solidarity with the international community on the process of resolution of crisis in Madagascar.
"It is a pleasure for Malagasy people to associate to Chinese people to share their joy on the occasion of the celebration of the 63rd anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China," said the Malagasy Minister of Youth and Leisure Andriantiana Ulrich, who represented the Minister of Foreign Affairs Pierrot Rajaonarivelo.
After citing all the achievements of China in Madagascar, the minister said he takes this opportunity to pay tribute to the Chinese government and people for all their efforts tirelessly to bring peace in the world, for the development of humanity.
"I address to the leaders and the Chinese people our warmest wishes for the success of 18th National Congress of the Communist Party scheduled in October," the minister said.
China and Madagascar began diplomatic relationships in 1972 but on economic and trade relations, China is the fifth largest export partner of Madagascar while it is the first partner in terms of imports Madagascar now in 2012.
