   New stats show more than 160-thosuand people have been punished in China for disciplinary violations over the last year.

 
  Official figures show disciplinary inspection organs launched investigations into more than 150-thousand cases based on tip-offs from the public.
 
  Cui Shaopeng is the secretary general of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
 
  "In 2012, disciplinary authorities of all levels have strengthened the investigation of cases involving government agencies and government officials. Over 4-thousand county level or higher level officials have been punished. More than 9-hundred such cases have been handed over to judicial authorities. The CPC Central Disciplinary Committee and Ministry of Supervision have dealt with cases involving Bo Xilai, Liu Zhijun, Huang Sheng, Tian Xueren."
 
  Cui adds disciplinary authorities also encourage the public to report disciplinary violation or corrupt cases through correspondence, hotline or in person.
