   LIMA, June 19 (Xinhua) -- Authorities of both Peru and Colombia have agreed to promote bilateral development and cooperation projects till 2015, announced Luis Olivera, director of the Peruvian International Cooperation Agency (PICA), Wednesday.

  The agreement was reached at the seventh Meeting of the Peru- Colombia Joint Committee on Technical and Scientific Cooperation here Wednesday, Olivera said in a statement posted on the PICA website.
  Olivera said he and his Colombian counterpart Maria Andrea Alban Duran, director of the Colombian International Cooperation Agency, agreed at the meeting that both countries would cooperate to strengthen national preventive measures against domestic and gender-based violence and to encourage a culture of tolerance among youth.
  The two countries will also work to preserve the security of children and adolescents, with an eye on preventing their recruitment by organized crime and armed groups, Olivera said.
  The Peruvian official said that the two countries would also develop joint training programs in environmental preservation for small and medium-size lumber companies and communities living in the Amazon border region between the two nations.
  Peru and Colombia are partner states in the Andean Community ( CAN) and share an extensive borderline in the Amazonian region, where they promote bilateral integration in all fields.
