2. A thousand firefighters are battling a spreading wildfire in the inland mountains of Southern California. The fire in the San Jacinto Mountains has grown from 7,000 acres to 10,000 acres overnight. Two firefighters and a civilian have been hurt. 
 
 
 
3. Heavy rain from the Nashville metro area eastward has triggered flash flooding. Dozens of people had been rescued from rising water. More than four inches of rain had fallen by Thursday afternoon. 
 
 
 
4. NOAA is now live streaming a deep sea exploration off Nantucket and tens of thousands of people are tuning in. NOAA's ship and its robotic sub explore the ocean's thousands of species, garnering about 50,000 visits a day to the live stream.
