Video released Saturday to militant websites on the internet appears to show the beheading of captured Japanese Journalist Kenji Goto. Late Friday Japan’s deputy foreign minister said efforts to free Goto were “in a state of deadline”. Bobbi Kristina Brown, the daughter of the late entertainer Whitney Houston, was found unresponsive in a bathtub and taken to a Atlanta area hospital. The incident is under investigation.
Some 275 firefighters were callout early Saturday to battle a 7-alarm fire that struck a warehouse in Brooklyn. No reports of any serious injuries but the fire sent smoke billowing across the east river and into Manhattan.
A Champagne toast is going out to two balloon pilots---Troy Bradley of Albuquerque, NewMexico and Leonid Tiukhtyaev of Russia, who landed their helium filled balloon off the coast of Mexico after a record-setting journey. They began last Sunday in Japan.
