[英伦广角] 2015-06-13 英国主题公园过山车追尾致多人重伤(在线收听

The rides are rolling again at Alton towers, for six days the rollercoasters here have fallen silent, the park is now open, but the Smiler the park's flagship rollercoaster is closed, and it will be like this for some time. Last week 16 people were injured when one carriage collided at speed with an empty one on the same track, it shouldn't have been allowed to happen, but it did, and we now know just how bad this incident was. As the gates opened and the crowds returned, doctors delivered the brutal truth behind some of those injuries, 17-year old Leah Washington from B have to have her left leg amputated at the knee, David Washington, Leah's father said in a statement Leah has suffered a life changing injury and has now many months of rehabilitation ahead of her, we would like to thank all the emergency services at the scene and all the hospital staff who saved Leah's life. Behind the smiles there are tough times ahead for Merlin Entertainment who own this park, any legal action against them could prove costly, in a statement Alton towers said We are deeply saddened by Leah's news, and all our thoughts are with her and her family, we have made contact with all the families and have assured them that we will provide full support to all of those involved now, and through their recovery and rehabilitation. All of these didn't seem to put off the families coming here for a day out. We've planned to come before any of the what happened it happened, so you know it's these two boys' birthday treat, we're always going to do it, so now we are quite happy about coming.

Well it's slightly on our minds, but i think with all the media attention, and everything on television, I think I'm quite confident that they are doing everything they can to make sure they are safe and it's about to being a fun day for the family.
For Alton towers this is about reassuring visitors and repairing reputations, it has been a bad week for Britain's biggest theme park, but it can not afford to have lingering doubts over safety.
It may take several months for a health and safety executive report to be published, that could shed light on what happened here and why the ride designed to thrill and scare inflicted pain and suffering instead.
