 "The main danger to stability is terror..." Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon suffers a significant stroke and lapses into a coma. It happens just month after Sharon ends Israeli's 38-year occupation of the Gaza Strip and both his own hard-line Likud party. Sharon's official powers are transferred to his dupty Ehud Olmert, who later succeeds him as Prime Minister.

1809,Louis Braille, the inventor of a reading system for the blind which bears his name to this day, is born in the town near Paris.
