Topic1 24 Hours of Fasting Against HungerA public campaign calling for people's awareness of the ongoing global hunger and poverty alleviation is attracting the attention of many Chinese. The campaign, initiated by the China Foundation for Poverty Alleviation, invites members of the public to take the challenge of experiencing hunger for 24 hours.
The initiative was made to mark the World Food Day, which falls on Oct. 16 every year, and the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty which is observed on Oct. 17 every year.
