This is AP News Minute. New Jersey senator Bob Menendez annouced his opposition to the Iran nuclear agreement, becoming the second Democratic senator to oppose the controversial deal. The deal would curb Iran's nuclear program in exchange for relief from economic sanctions.
The United Nations said it plans to contact telecom gaint AT&T about a report that it allowed the US National Security Agency to wiretap all Internet communications at UN headquarters. A UN spokeswoman said US officials had previously given the UN assuarances that the government was not monitoring any communications when similar allegations arose arose.
Opening statesments began in the trial of a 19-year-old New Hampshire prep school graduate who is charged with raping a 15-year-old freshman just days before graduation in 2014. Prosecutors say a practice of sexual conquest at the school known as the 'senior salute' will be central to the case.
Russian president Vladimir Putin has taken a small submersible craft down to the bottom of the Black Sea. Putin went down 272 feet in a 3-seat submersible just to see an ancient ship recently discovered off the coast of Crimea.
