 Consumerism is almost an ideology. I don’t think it’ just necessarily here. Well, before, China used to be very poor and we didn’t have enough food to eat, so you may imagine when people got rich. Tens of millions are turning to religious faith. Near the central of Chongqing, not far from the Yangtze, a Buddha’s temple stands proud among the skyscrapers and shopping malls. There is a temple here for nearly 1000 years. It’s amazing. It’s surrounded by skyscrapers. Sure, it’s fairly popular. It’s quite loneness, isn’t it. Tranquil? This is big happy Buddha.
