美国佛罗里达州人，从小在母亲的支持下，5岁开始唱歌，14岁就开始写歌；初中高中时期，积极参加合唱团，和不断的写歌作词等。在写歌作词的音乐之路上，他虽然一直默默无闻，但却从不放弃自己的写作才能，终于他写作的歌曲被华纳兄弟看中，之后为一些有名歌手写歌，打响了自己的知名度。
