 1. Secretary of State John Kerry is imploring Syrian government and rebels to take advantage of U.N-sponsored peace negotiations. Kerry says a ceasefire would allow all parties involved to focus on defeating the Islamic State. 

 
2. Russian officials said on Friday a fire at a textile workshop in Moscow killed 12 people, including 3 children. The fire erupted late Saturday in northeastern Moscow and engulfed an area over 3200 square feet. 
 
3. An Israeli vulture is safe at home after flying to the neighboring Lebanon, a country which strains ties with Israel. Lebanon had accused the bird of spying for the Jewish states. Reports suggested the bird was strapped with a satellite transmitter for research purposes. 
 
4. And thousands people gathered in the Venice's St.Mark's square on Sunday for the traditional "Flight of the Angel" parade kicking off the carnival. According to the Venice tradition, elaborately costumed carnival-goers stroll through the city, showing off their finery, finished with hand-painted masks.
