China increased fiscal spending in the first two months of this year to strengthen its support for the real economy. Fresh finance ministry data shows that China's fiscal spending jumped 12 percent from a year ago at 2.1 trillion yuan.

 

Among all, the central government spent about 300 billion yuan, down 2.1 percent from a year ago. Local authorities spent 1.8 trillion, up almost 15 percent. On the other side, fiscal income in the same period grew 6.3 percent from a year ago at 2.7 trillion yuan. Income at both the central and local levels registered growth. At the two sessions, Premier Li Keqiang said the central government would expand the public deficit moderately and reduce the tax burden to support economic growth.
