贵州煤矿事故致11人死亡 国防部:中国军队继续深入推进反腐败工作 A coal mine explosion in the southwestern Chinese province of Guizhou has left 11 people dead. The deadly blast comes on the heels of this week's deadly fire at a coal mine in Liaoning which has left 26 people dead. The explosion in Guizhou ripped through a privately-owned mine in Pan County, which is located in the far-west of the province. A total of 19 people were working underground at the time. Six of the survivors are said to be suffering from serious injuries. The cause of the explosion is under investigation. China's Defense Ministry says it's pushing ahead with a crackdown on corruption in the military. A spokesperson for the Defense Ministry made the comments in response to reports a number of generals have been caught-up in the current corruption crackdown. The spokesmane stresses that the PLA has zero tolerance for corrupt officials. There have been several high profile corruption cases being unveiled within the PLA recently, including a bribery investigation into Xu Caihou, former vice chair of the Central Military Commission. |
