It's been announced Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to deliver a speech to the opening ceremony of this year's Bo'ao Forum for Asia.

The Forum is scheduled to run for three days next week in Bo'ao, Hainan, starting from March 26th.

The annual conference is set to include discussions about the macroeconomy, industry transformation, regional development, technological innovation, among other topics.

Presidents from Armenia, Austria, Indonesia, and many other nations are due to attend the event.

The Chinese government is calling the Japanese side to stick to its decades-long "purely defensive" national defense strategy.

At the same time, the Chinese side is calling on Japan to adopt an objective and rational perception of China's development.

The comments have been made at a China-Japan security exchange this week in Tokyo, the first in 4-years.

The Chinese side says it will uphold its principle of peaceful development.

The Japanese side contends further exchanges on security issues will help improve trust.

The two countries' mutual security relationship had been frozen the last 4-years after Japanese side moved unilaterally to "nationalize" the Diaoyu Islands back in 2012.
