Recovery work is underway in the French Alps following the crash of passenger plane on a flight from Barcelona to Dusseldorf, Germany.

144 passengers and 6 crew members were on board the Germanwings Airbus A320 when it went down.

There are no survivors.

The dead are mostly German and Spanish nationals, including 16 German students returning from an exchange trip.

The flight-data recorder of the downed jetliner has been recovered.

Officials say they remain unclear as to what may have caused the plane to go down.

French authorities are suggesting is may take days to recover the bodies because of the difficult terrain, snow and incoming storms making things more difficult.

Newly-released stats show 1.5 million Chinese officials have complied with the new regulations to disclose their personal property.
