  192. Washington elected President. 192.华盛顿当选总统
  In the early years under the Constitution the Presidents and Vice-Presidents were elected in the following manner. 在早些年,根据宪法以下面的方式选举总统和副总统:
  First each state chose presidential electors usually by vote of its legislature. 首先,各个州通过其立法机关的投票选出总统选举人,
  Then the electors of each state came together and voted for two persons without saying which of the two should be President. 然后,各个州的选举人聚到一起投票选出两个人,但不决定这两个人谁是总统,
  When all the electoral votes were counted, the person having the largest number, provided that was more than half of the whole number of electoral votes, was declared President. 计票结束后,拥有最大数量选票的人将被宣布为总统,但规定这个选票数要超出所有选票的半数以上。
  The person having the next largest number became Vice-President. 获得仅次于总统票数的人将是副总统。
