Party building work is vital to the Communist Party's development.
The deputy head of the CPC Central Committee organization department, Ouyang Song, says the CPC has achieved great progress in party building, especially over the past five years. And he says this work will be deepened in the future.
Ouyang Song says the Communist Party of China has paid great attention to its self-building work with the changes and developments of domestic and international situations. Since the 16th CPC party congress 5 years ago, the party organization work has improved significantly.
Ouyang Song, Deputy Head of Dep't of Organization, CPC, said, "Democracy within the Party has been extended. The internal rules of procedure and the decision making process of Party Committees have been improved. The decisions have been more scientific and democratic. We also paid greater attention to bringing into play the role of the party's plenary session. And, we have also introduced the voting system for local Party Committees in their decision-making about major issues and major appointments."
The Party is also promoting its work in other areas, such as upgrading theory and reducing the number of local leaders. And, as one of the top priorities, the anti-corruption campaign within the party has made great progress.
Ouyang Song said, "In particular, much progress has been achieved inmajor and serious cases, in the uncovering of corruption, in the strengthening of institution building and in the enhancement of supervision over leading officials, in the punishment of commercial bribery and also in the fight against various unhealthy trends that undermine the interest of the people. "
The official said party building work will be deepened, elections of officials will be increasingly transparent, and more non-Communist Party members will take part in democratic politics.
Ouyang Song also warns, the Party's ruling capability has yet to adapt completely to the new circumstances and new tasks. Some serious problems make the party building work even more urgent and tougher. And resolving these problems will require long-term persistence.
