  276. The Era as a Whole. 276.整个新时代
  The years 1815-1824 have been called the Era of Good Feeling, 1815-1824年被称为"幸福时代",
  because there was no hard political fighting in all that time-at least not until the last year or two. 因为在这一段时间至少最后一两年没有政治斗争。
  In 1816 Monroe was elected President without much opposition. 1816年门罗没有遇到多少对手就当选总统,
  In 1820 he was reelected President without any opposition whatever. 他于1820年连任,也没有遇到多少反对者。
  Instead of fighting over politics, 人们没有关注政治斗争,
  the people were busily employed in bringing vast regions of the West under cultivation and in founding great manufacturing industries in the East. 而是忙于在西部地区发展农业,忙于在东部创制大型的制造业;
