The NOAA hurricane seasonal outlook for the East Coast of the U.S. is out, and it predicts:

(Dr. Sullivan) "Eight to 13 storms, three to six developing to hurricane. One to two of those becoming major hurricanes. These ranges are near or below the seasonal averages."

Due to el Nino impacting the Atlantic weather systems. But NOAA's Chief, Dr. Kathy Sullivan, says it doesn't really matter how many storms actually form:

(Dr. Sullivan) "It only takes one destructive storm to make for a very bad season on the ground in our communities."

And preparation is key.
