福克斯新闻 西雅图的底薪得到了提高(在线收听

In a number of years, business owners in Seattle must pay their employees at least $15 bucks an hour. The wage hike is championed by city council member Kshama Sawant, elected from the Socialist Alternative Party, who says lower wages are unfair to teens and unskilled workers.

Sawant: "And so the solution to that is not to condemn them further to low wages, but actually to bring them on par with everyone else."

Small businesses are supposed to have seven years to phase in the higher wage, but if they're a part of a national franchise, they might only have three years.
