I'm somebody who spends a lot of time

modelling hurricanes in the current climate and future climates.

When we do that, we begin to see hurricanes

that haven't happened yet in history, if you well,

but they could happen on physical grounds.

We call those "Black swan events",

the particularly bad ones.

This is something that worries me particular

because there are places around the world

that are at great risk from hurricanes.

Some of which don't know they're at great risk from hurricanes.

It seems scarcely credible,

but one of the places

he thinks could be hit by a hurricane

is here in Dubai

in the Persian Gulf.

that gets very hot in the summer.

Really hot. The hot water runs very deep, as well.

To our knowledge, in the limited history of the region,

there hasn't been a hurricane there.

There may have been one in the distant past that wasn't recorded.
