3. A would-be bar owner turned down for a liquor licence threatened to shoot people at the Super Bowl but changes his mind. 35-year-old Kurt William Havelock came armed with a rifle and 200 rounds of ammunition. He later turned himself in.

4. Conservation groups want the polar bear on the list of endangered species as nearly 46,000 square miles in Alaska are open to oil and gas leases. The World Wildlife Fund says the polar bear is not receiving enough protection.
