The Ukraine visit comes at a crucial moment in the war as Biden looks to keep allies unified in their support for Ukraine as the war is expected to intensify with both sides preparing for spring offensives.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the significance of US President Joe Biden's visit earlier in the day in his nightly video address on Monday,

saying the two agreed that Russia must be defeated in 2023.

He said President Biden and I talked, in particular, about how to do everything to ensure our common victory this year in the war that Russia unleashed, Zelenskyy said.

Zelenskyy said the defense needs of Ukraine are known and thanked his US ally for their support.

A new 6.4 magnitude earthquake has killed three people and injured more than 200 in parts of Turkey laid waste two weeks ago by a massive quake that killed tens of thousands.
