1.President Barack Obama says he has phoned Afghan President Hamid Karzir to congratulate him on winning the second term. But Obama says he also told  Karzir he expects some more serious effort to end corruption in his government and  ready Afghanistan to ultimately defend  itself.

2.Authorities in Cleveland say  it could take days before they identify  six female bodies who were found  in the home of a convicted rapist. The coroner says they are focusing on eight or nine missing women. Anthony Sowell was arrested Saturday on a rape and felonious assault warrant but hasn’t been charged in connection with the bodies.

3.More than 500,000 pounds of ground beef have been  recalled. The recall comes after Federal health officials said two deaths and dozens of illnesses may be linked to the possibly contaminated meat. All but three of the suspected infections are in the northeastern US.

4.And the world's fastest man has adopted the animal kingdom's fastest sprinter. Usain  Bolt has welcomed the new baby cheetah named "Lightning  Bolt" into  his life.
