中国国防部强烈谴责日本防卫大臣否定百人斩

 　　China's Defense¹ Ministry² denounced new Japanese Defense Minister Tomomi Inada's attempts to deny any "killing³ contest" in Nanjing during WWII.

　　中国国防部日前严厉谴责了日本防卫大臣稻田朋美，驳斥其否认二战日军在南京开展“杀人比赛”的行为。

　　Tomomi Inada's remarks are outrageous⁴, said the Chinese Defense Ministry in a statement.

　　中国国防部在一份声明中表示，稻田朋美的言论是令人无法容忍的。

　　Inada said that she doubted that whether any killing contest took place during the Nanjing Massacre⁵.

　　稻田朋美近日声称，她怀疑在南京大屠杀中是否曾经真的发生过杀人比赛。

　　Japanese Defense Minister's public denial of the fact was aimed at whitewashing⁶ Japan's atrocities⁷ and disturbing the post-war order, said Chinese Defense Ministry.

　　中国国防部指出，日本防卫大臣对这一事实公开否认的目的，就是要美化日本侵略暴行和破坏战后秩序。

　　There is no future if Japan denies history, said the Defense Ministry.

　　国防部表示，如果日本否认历史，那么就没有未来。

　　The Japanese army occupied Nanjing in late 1937, and in over 40 days more than 300,000 Chinese were killed.

　　在1937年底，日本侵略军占领了南京，在40多天的时间里，超过30万中国同胞被杀害。

　　During that time two Japanese officers, Toshiaki Mukai and Tsuyoshi Noda, had a contest to kill 100 Chinese people using a sword. Mukai beheaded 106 and Noda 105. The two officers were convicted of atrocities and executed in January 1948.

　　在南京大屠杀期间，两名日本军官--向井敏明和野田毅--举行了一场杀人比赛，互约看谁先用刀砍杀100名中国人即为获胜。最终向井敏明杀了106人，野田毅杀了105人。后来这两人被审判定罪，并于1948年一月执行死刑。
