There is no sign of a young boy who was thought to have been stuck in a home-made balloon that floated thousands of meters above the US state of Colorado. It's believed the boy got into the contraption in his backyard and it floated away with the six-year-old still inside. Authorities thought they may have to shoot the balloon down but it eventually ran out of gas and floated back down to earth. The boy was not in the balloon though when it landed. It's thought he may have jumped out not long after / became airborne or not got into it at all.
The Taliban has claimed responsibility for five terrorist attacks in Pakistan in less than 24 hours. At least 40 people are dead. Dozens were killed in simultaneous attacks on three police compounds in the hall. There were also two car-bomb blasts in the northwest of the country.
And 255 Sri Lankan asylum1 seekers are still refusing to be moved from their wooden boat moored2 in western Java. They are now on a hunger strike. And they say only the children will be taking food. The Tamil say returning to Sri Lanka is not an option.
