Hello, Jessica Askin updating ABC News.
Indonesia has agreed to temporarily accept the asylum1 seekers who were picked up on the weekend by an Australian customs ship. The arrangement was made during meetings between the Indonesian President and Australian Prime Minister last night. The 78 Sri Lankans are being shipped to the Indonesian port of Merak in Western Java. The Foreign Affairs Minister says it's a good outcome.
The International Community has welcomed the decision by Afghanistan's President to hold a runoff election. Hamid Karzai has agreed to hold a second round of voting in the country's fraud-tainted election. The US President says it's an important step forward in ensuring a credible2 process for the Afghan people.
At least five Pakistani civilians3 are dead after two suicide bombers4 attacked a university campus in Islamabad. More than 20 people were injured in the blasts. They're the latest in a string of militant5 attacks across the country in the past two weeks.
And the Roman Catholic Church has stunned6 its community by announcing it'll allow disaffected7 Anglicans to convert. The move is seen as a way for those upset by the appointment of women and gay bishops8 to join the Vatican's conservative ranks.
And there'll be more news later.
