 Indonesia has rejected key parts of the Coalition's asylum¹ seeker policy. Tony Abbott is expected to visit Indonesia in coming weeks. Theincoming Foreign Minister Julie Biship says the government will be holding bilateral² meetings to discuss those plans. 

 

Labor's deputy leader Anthorney Aboniz will tellhis colleagues today whether he'll stand for the leadership. Bill Shotan hasalready nominated and Labor's caucus³ meeting in Canberra later today to discuss the issue. 

 

And talks are underway in Genevabetween the US and Russia to discuss a plan to put Syria'schemical weapons under international control. Syriasays it will begin the process of handing over control if the US removes itsthreat of military action.
