 An initial test has revealed an 18-year-old woman in Brisbane has not contracted the deadly Ebola virus. The woman arrived from West Africa 11 days ago. She is in hospital after developing a mild fever. Another test is to be conducted in the coming days. 

 

Hundreds of members of Sydney's Jewish community have joined the search for a missing school girl. A large search has so far failed to find any trace of 11-year-old Michelle Levy¹. She was last seen leaving her north B. home on Saturday evening after an argument with her family. 

 

And police are also concerned for the welfare of the missing 14-year-old boy in southern Tasmania. Jack² R. was last seen on Saturday afternoon when he left his W. home for a bike ride.

And firefighters believe a lightning strike may have to be blamed for a fire that destroyed a house in Melbourne's inner east. The fire started in a tree, which fell onto the roof of the house in Pram⁵. Lightning from a series of thunderstorms lit up the early morning skies over the city.
