The Opposition1 Leader Bill Shorten has announced Labor2 will establish an anti-corruption3 watchdog within its first year of government, if it is elected. Mr Shorten says a National Integrity Commission would have similar powers to a standing4 Royal Commission and investigate alleged5 systemic corruption in the public sector6. The Commission would make findings of fact and refer cases to federal prosecutors7 when appropriate.
