Liberal MP Sussan Ley has introduced a private member's bill to parliament — pu??shing for an end to the live sheep export trade within the next five years. The proposal would also ban live sheep exports to the Middle East during summer in 2019. The federal opposition¹ has swung its support behind the measures.

The nation's acting⁷ chief medical officer Tony Hobbs says stocks of the vaccine⁸ are being replenished⁹ from overseas.
