Wonder Woman has been stripped from her duties as Honorary Ambassador to the United Nations following protests from both inside and outside the world organization that a white, skimpily dressed American prone¹ to violence wasn’t the best role model for girls.

(Wonder Woman) “It is our sacred duty to defend the world and it is what I’m going to do.”

Wonder Woman’s tenure² as an Honorary Ambassador for the “Empowerment of Women and Girls” ends this week, a move that come less than two months after a widely televised ceremony that even Lynda Carter, who played Wonder Woman in the 1970’s TV series, and Gal³ Gadot, who has taken on the role in the forthcoming “Wonder Woman” film attended.
