Yahoo! is one of the biggest Internet service companies in the world. It is one of the top search engines and e-mail providers. Yahoo! was founded in 1994 by Jerry Yang and David Filo. They originally named it "Jerry and David's Guide to the World Wide Web" but changed it to "Yahoo!" Officially, ‘Yahoo’ means "Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle¹". They chose the word because it has a generally understood meaning worldwide. The company has assets² valued at $15 billion and employs 15,000 people around the world. The Yahoo! website says the company is very customer focused: “We respect our customers above all else and never forget that they come to us by choice…We listen and respond to our customers and seek to exceed³ their expectations.”
