A patient said，"Doc，during my operation I heard you use a four-letter word that scared me very much."

The surgeon replied，"What word was that?"

"I heard you say，'Oops!'" the patient answered.

一个病人说：“医生，在敌手术的时候，我听到你说了一个4 个字母的词，让我非常害怕。”

 

"use"和它的中文意思一样可以用在很多地方，如：用洗手间（委婉用法）、用车、利用人、用字(说或写）、用…语言等，而在这里表示“用某个词去表达某种意思”。

外科医生问：“是什么词？”

3. "I heard you say，'Oops!'" the patient answered.

 

病人回答：“我听到你说‘糟糕！’”

 

"oops"是一个感叹词，当手上的东西掉落、碰到人，或是为正在做的事不顺利而感到懊恼时，都可以用这个词，和我们所说的“哎哟；糟糕”相似。
