2. Police are searching for a motive¹ behind a New York shooting. Four ended up dead including two auxiliary² police officers and the gunman. A neighbor says a former employee walked into a pizzeria shooting a worker 15 times in the back.

3. California is jumping into the presidential primaries early. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger moved the state's primary to February from June, saying the state will now get the respect it deserves.

4. There is a new species of leopard³ out there in the rainforest of Borneo. The clouded leopard is secretive and gets its name from the cloud-shaped patterns on its fur.
