A deadline set by Islamic State Militants1 has passed and there’s no word on the fate of a Jordanian pilot or his fellow hostage, a Japanese journalist. The militants had threatened to kill the airman at sunset unless an al-Qaida prisoner was freed from death row in Jordan.
A gas truck exploded in a Mexico City shattering a maternity2 and children’s hospital. At least two people were killed and dozens injured. Officials believed the blast was caused by a leak in the truck’s hose.
