A judge has tossed out of the convictions of nine South Carolina black men who integrated a whites only lunch counter at the peak of the civil rights movement. The nine men known as the Friendship Nine were convicted of trespassing¹ and protesting.

Officials say human body parts were discovered on a Swampscott beach in Massachusetts on Wednesday. Someone out for a walk reportedly found the body parts and alerted police. Medical examiners will work to determine the identity.

Fans of beloved Chicago Cubs² player Ernie Banks paid their respects as a statue was on display in Daley Plaza³.Fans and politicians alike stopped by downtown Chicago to take photos and pose with the statue. The 83-year-old Banks died Friday of heart attack.
