The man charged with killing¹ a Texas deputy is being held without bond. Prosecutors² say Shannon Miles shot Darren Goforth 15 times and that a gun found at his house matches shell casings found at the scene of the crime.

President Obama is making his way to Alaska. The 3-day trip is designed to call attention to the ways Obama says climate change is already damaging Alaska's stunning³ scenery.

Last minute settlement talks between lawyers for NFL commissioner⁴ Roger Goodell and the New England Patriots⁵ quarterback Tom Brady have failed. That means it's up to judge to decide the fate of the "deflategate." He says he expects to rule as early as Tuesday.

And Kirk Cousins is getting the call as the Redskins starting quartertback, a blow to the struggling Robert Griffin the 3rd, who was 2012's offensive rookie of the year.
