Tropical storm Gordon made landfall near the Alabama-Mississippi border late Tuesday night. Thousands of homes and businesses lost power, mostly in coastal¹ Alabama.

Boston city councilwoman Ayanna Pressley stunned² democrats³, winning a congressional primary. She beat 10-term incumbent⁴ Michael Capuano and is expected to become Massachusetts' first black congresswoman.

Representatives from South Korea went to North Korea for talks on the North's nuclear program. They were also expected to set up a new summit between South Korean President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
