 "Pigs' food!" said¹ the little old woman. "You don't mean that?" 猪食！你不是那个意思吧？矮个子老妇人说道。

"Yes, I do mean it," the boy answered, rudely². 是的，我就是那个意思，男孩很不友好的回答说。

"Oh, very well. You will find out when you get to your journey³'s end," said the old woman to him, just as⁴ she had⁵ said to his brother. 嗯，那好吧。到了旅途终点，你就会知道里面是什么了。老妇人对他说，就跟对他哥哥说的一样。

The boy went on until⁶ he reached⁷ the palace⁸, and he, too, was⁹ led¹⁰ before the king¹¹. 男孩继续赶路，一直走到了王宫，他也被带到了国王面前。

When the king took¹² off¹³ the covering¹⁴ of green leaves¹⁵, he saw¹⁶ pigs' food in the basket instead¹⁷ of beautiful yellow pears! 当国王揭掉绿叶的时候，他看到的是猪食，不是诱人的黄梨。

At once the servants¹⁸ took the second boy off and shut¹⁹ him up, too. 侍卫立刻带走了这个男孩，也把他关起来了。

As the time went by, and the poor man heard nothing from his two sons he grew very sad. 又过了一段时间，这个父亲一直没有听到他两个儿子的消息，他很伤心。

When the youngest boy saw how unhappy²⁰ his father was, he, too, felt sad. 小儿子看到自己的父亲那么伤心，他也感到很难过。
