 　　Wondering what her godmother would do, Cinderella brought the trap¹ to the fairy.  灰姑娘一边好奇她的教母会做什么，一边把捕鼠器拿给了她。

　　Then the godmother opened the door of the trap, and as each little mouse ran out, she gave it a tap with her magic wand. 于是，仙女打开了捕鼠器的门。当每只小老鼠跑出来的时候，她都用她的魔棒点一下。

　　At the touch, every mouse was turned into a beautiful horse.  这一点，使每只老鼠都变成了一匹骏马。

　　Wonderful! cried Cinderella joyfully², "but, godmother, we have no coachman. “太好了！”灰姑娘高兴地叫了出来，“但是，教母大人，我们还少一位马夫。

　　I will see if there is not a rat in the rat-trap. You might make a coachman of him." 我来看看，捕鼠器里还有没有老鼠了。你可以变一位马夫出来。

　　Yes, said the godmother. "Bring the trap to me." “嗯，好吧，把捕鼠器给我。”教母说。

　　So Cinderella brought the rat-trap to her, and in it were three large rats. 于是灰姑娘把捕鼠器拿给了她，里面还有三只大老鼠。

　　With her wand the fairy touched the rat that had the longest beard. 仙女用魔棒点了点胡子最长的老鼠。

　　At once he was turned into a fat coachman.  他立刻变成了一位胖胖马夫。

　　Then the fairy godmother said, "Go into the garden, and you will find six lizards³ behind the watering pot; bring them to me." 接着仙女教母说道：“去花园，你会在洒水壶的后面找到六只蜥蜴，把它们拿来给我。

　　The happy girl had no sooner brought the lizards than her godmother turned them into six footmen. 这个高兴的小姑娘刚把蜥蜴拿来，仙女就把他们变成了六个脚夫。

　　They jumped upon the back of the coach and held on as if they had done nothing else all their lives. 他们跳到了马车的后面，待在那里，好像他们一生从未做过其他事情一样。
