 Eating the Loaves 吃面包

Soon the biggest boy came running back to the tent. "My loaf is not good!" he said in an angry voice to the Little Baker¹. 没过多久，大男孩跑回了帐篷，他生气地跟小面包师说：“我的面包不好吃。”

Is it not your own loaf? asked the Baker. "And did you not pick it out yourself and say that you wished to eat it alone?" “那不是你自己的面包吗？”面包师问道，“不是你自已选的面包，说你想自己一个人吃吗？

Then all the others who had hurried away with the loaves, to eat them alone, came back. 这时候，所有拿着面包匆忙离开并独自吃的孩子都回来了。

We came for good bread! they cried. "These loaves are not good. See the boy there with all the little children. “我们要吃好吃的面包！”他们嚷道，“这些面包不好吃。看那个和其他小孩坐在一起的男孩。

Their bread is much better than ours. Give us loaves like theirs." 他们的面包比我们的好吃。给我们像他们那样的面包。”

The little girl and the little lame² boy sat eating their currant loaf happily together. 小女孩和跛腿的小男孩坐在一起快快乐乐地吃着他们的葡萄干面包。

So did the children and the kind and merry boy who had given them loaves. 分给孩子们面包的那个友善快乐的男孩也很开心地和孩子们一起分享着葡萄干面包。
