However the news is triggering new calls for attention to the Hanford nuclear site.Cleanup efforts are billions of dollars over budget and they are behind schedule . The tanks that _5_ radioactive waste are much older than their 20-year life span. Oregon senator Ron Wyden says he will ask for an investigation⁵ into Hanford's tank monitoring and maintenance programs.
