Nick: Hi everybody, this is Nick. Welcome to teaching1 series "how do you say this in American English.".大家好,我是Nick.
Brad:大家好,我是Brad
Nick: Hey what's up Brad.
Brad: Not much. How is it going, Nick?
Nick: good good. It's just… I'm tired as fuck.
Brad: How? What did you do?
Nick: ah… I hit the gym yesterday. You know I haven't been working out for a freaking long time, like a month or so. After that, I was like tired as fuck. I was beat.
Brad: Happens to me too! I work out a lot and it's nice outside so I'm woke as fuck! Whenever I'm tired as fuck I just drink a lot of coffee, you know, caffeine? I pretty much live off coffee during the week
Nick: Yeah I feel you. I've been there before. But coffee is not my cup of tea, not my thing though.
Brad: Coffee isn't your cup of tea?
Nick: No it's not.
Brad: When you are using "as fuck" you do need to be careful when and where you use it. Not only is it informal but it's very inappropriate. With me it's totally fine since we're close friends and we've been in class together and pretty much the same age but I don't recommend using it in front of anyone older. Also in my eyes, it could be just mean, I'm sure a lot of people are gonna share this thing (or some) thoughts. But it's not really appropriate to curse2 in front of a woman-you are using "fuck", which is a very bad curse word. Even now we are in a pretty closed room but I'm always to check over my shoulder when I'm saying "fuck" because of this. So you don't really wanna say "fuck"
Nick: It's a swear word.
Brad: Yeah it's a swear word. I won't be saying fuck in Chinese like all the time. People will be like I'm weird3
Nick: Apparently4 that's pretty informal. So this is pretty much it for this time. I'll see you guys next time, bye.
Brad: 再见
