精灵鼠小弟 第45期:玛戈飞走了

 　　Next morning Margalo found a note on the branch¹ of her fern when she woke.

　　第二天早晨，玛戈醒来时，在她的羊齿植物的枝桠间发现了一个便条。

　　It said: BEWARE² OF ASTRANGE CAT WHO WILL COME BY NIGHT.

　　那上面说：当心半夜来的那只陌生的猫。

　　It was signed A WELLWISHER.

　　底下的签名是：一个好心人。

　　She kept the note under her wing all day long,wondering what she had better do,整整一天里，她都把这便条夹在她的翅膀下面，想知道她该怎么办，but she didn't dare³ show it to anyone--not even to Stuart.

　　不过她不敢把它给任何人看——甚至不敢给斯图亚特看。

　　She couldn't eat, she was so frightened.

　　她吃不下饭，因为她太害怕了。

　　"What had Ibetter do?" she kept saying to herself.

　　“我该怎么办呢？”她不停地自问着。

　　Finally, just before dark, she hopped⁴ up to an open window and without saying anything to anybody she flew away.

　　最后，就在天黑之前，她没有对任何人说什么就蹦上开着的窗户飞走了。

　　It was springtime, and she flew north, just as fast as she couldfly,那时是春天，她就尽可能地往北飞，

　　because something inside her told her that north was the way for a bird to go when spring comes to the land.
