剧中：I get the picture.

get the picture ： to understand the whole situation  对什么有全部的了解

e.g. <1>After meeting his parents, Julie got the picture about her boyfriend.

             在Julie和他的父母谈完了之后，她对自己的男朋友是什么样的人就有了了解。

       <2>Once the managers explained all the aspects of the project, I got the picture and understood my role much better.

             在这些经理向我们介绍了这个项目方方面面之后，我就有一个大概的了解，并且更加明白我应该干什么，我的角色是什么。

经典对白:

1. 剧中：He knew what he was doing.
know what somebody is doing / know what you are doing ：you have a lot of experience or a particular plan  很有经验，做什么事情心中有数

e.g. <1>When it comes to planning large events, she knows what she is doing.

                说到筹划大的项目，她是很有经验的。

       <2>The team always wins. They really know what they are doing.

               那支队伍经常赢比赛，他们很有经验，很老道。

2．剧中：You lost your birthright in one hand of poker¹.

a person’s birthright ： something that they are supposed to receive after a parent dies   应该继承的财产

e.g. <1>As the oldest son, I will get the family farm as a birthright.

              我愿意做老大，我们家的农场就该归我。

       <2>The prodigal² son claimed his birthright early and left home.

              那个浪子提前把他的遗产要走了，然后离开了家。

              (claim the birthright 要走了财产)

参考例句：

• He was cleared out in the poker game.他打扑克牌，把钱都输光了。

2 prodigal   

adj.浪费的，挥霍的，放荡的

参考例句：

• He has been prodigal of the money left by his parents.他已挥霍掉他父母留下的钱。
• The country has been prodigal of its forests.这个国家的森林正受过度的采伐。
