 December 15th, 1961, an Israeli court sentences former Nazi¹ official Adolf Eichmann to death for his role in the holocaust² during World War II. He is hanged the following year, denying to the end his responsibility for the Nazi’s mass killing³ of Jews in Europe.

1944, a single-engine plane carrying bandleader Glenn Miller⁴ disappears over the English Channel on its way to Paris. Miller at that time, a major in U.S Army Air Forces during World War II, was 40 years old.

1791, the Bill of Rights takes effect after Virginia ratifies⁵ the first Ten Amendments⁶ to the U.S Constitution.

1890, in South Dakota, Sioux Indian Chief Sitting Bull and eleven other tribe members are killed during a fight with Indian police.

1966, Walt Disney, founder⁷ of an entertainment empire that lasted to this day dies in Los Angeles at age, 65.

And 1939, Atlanta host the world premiere of “Gone with the Wind”. The movie based on Margaret Mitchell’s novel.
