Now music and the Keiser Chiefs were the big winners at last night's Brit Awards - taking home the prizes for best British Group, Rock Act and Live Act. James Blunt won two awards as did Coldplay. The Britain's biggest band at the moment sparked rumors¹ of an impending² split/ after the lead singer Christ Martin suggested this could be the group's last moment to do this, as Harry³ Fawcett reports.

The usual array of stars and celebs were in London to see who would be crowned this year's champions of British music and they didn't have to wait long to see the eventual⁴ winners. The Kaiser Chiefs opened the show.

The Leeds 4-pieced(band)'ve enjoyed a huge success in the last twelve months, picked up three awards and dropped one.

I think the delight, delightful⁵ (are) most what we'll go in for, en, because that is today's us, just wildest stage play while we play, so there is a feel left and nothing else ,so ...

James Blunt also flew the flag, winning Best British Male and Best Pop Act, and taking the jibes⁶ about his high-pitched voice in good humor.

But at least the former army capitian had some help to fight off the police.

First of all, We'd like to say stop giving James Blunt a hard time. We're proud of him. He's British and all that stuff.

The undisputed heavy-weights of the British music scene, won for Best Single, Speed of Sound, and Best Album, X&Y, but all the talk was a possibe if temporary split after this.

This could be our last moment to do this, so first we would like to thank the super babe of all super babes.

The winner is Modonna!

Modonna reportedly left the show early, but was there long enough to pick up the public display of affection from her husband , and the award for the Best International Female Artist.

It's ironic⁷ , because even though I'm an Amrican recording⁸ artist, it is British recording artists who have influenced my work the most .

Plenty of Great Britain and elsewhere, KT Tunstall named Best British Female, And Paul Weller given the award for Outstanding Contribution to Music.

It's been a great four years and there is a few more years left hopefully. Thank every one for this trophy⁹.

But it was an American who got one of the best receptions of the night, Prince, rolling back the years to his 1980's heyday¹⁰!
